Update December 2022 - January 2023

Charity Number 1151083

With the Christmas season here the clients are making preparations for the festivities that will be held here making Christmas cards and decorating centre pieces for the Christmas dinners. Lots of other activities have kept all the clients busy and enjoying the companionship of working with others. Some have enjoyed a session of ten pin bowling whilst others played carpet bowls.

There has been lots of singing, dancing, parachuting, woodworking, craft work etc. Our caring staff work hard to enable our clients to enjoy a wide variety of activities. Our Jinglers choir, along with the volunteers and the Redwing Band gave another fantastic performance at St Mary’s Church recently and despite the cold weather there was a large audience who were able to enjoy a wide range of cakes along with their hot drinks.

The Centre was recently involved in a Community project ‘The Pyjama Party’ with clients, staff and residents donating over 70 sets of pyjamas for young hospital patients at Stoke Mandeville Hospital to wear over Christmas. A big thank you to all who were involved with this.

Other news from the Centre - The recent Quiz evening was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves. It raised £895.50 which was a wonderful achievement and we would like to thank everyone who supported the event. There are plans for various entertainments over the next few weeks. Project-wise the main hall has now had insulation installed above the ceiling and is much warmer as a result. There is positive news regarding the solar panel project but we will have to continue waiting for the time being. We would also like to gratefully acknowledge support received from the Bird in Hand.

If you wish to learn more about all that the Centre can offer you or your loved one please ring Kim, our manager, on 01844 345105 who will invite you for a free taster session and discuss what is on offer.
