Update November-December 2022

Charity Number 1151083

Our clients have had plenty of excitement recently. This week they were thrilled to receive a letter from King Charles as some had sent their condolences to him following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

A few of the clients were recently taken to visit the Reptile Centre in High Wycombe and had lunch out and enjoyed getting close to the reptiles. Some of the Jinglers were taken to the MS Centre to enjoy a singing session there. Later this month clients from the MS Centre will be making a return visit. Another group were taken to the theatre to see a tribute band for the Hollies and the Searchers with a meal thrown in. A Halloween Party was a great success too and also the Quiz and Bingo evening.

We are very grateful to the resident who recently donated a billiard table for the clients to use. They are very much enjoying it. Others have enjoyed playing ‘Bubble tennis’, painting tiles, flower arranging with flowers donated by Marks and Spencer, art classes and making autumn wreaths, apart for the usual activities.

Project-wise, we are still waiting for the solar panel installation to take place, due to supply problems. However, we are having the loft above the main hall insulated this month. We are hoping to do a makeover of the boundary area to the front, side and rear of the Lower Hall if a grant application is successful. We are still looking for inspiration for doing a makeover on the main hall to improve the ambience and the layout so that it is more welcoming and cosy for the clients. If you have any ideas please contact Kim.

Now we have an extra vehicle we are looking to recruit drivers and an escort. These are part-time posts and if you know of anyone who would be interested there is a £50 reward if you can help us fill these vacancies. A D1 on your licence is not required for this vehicle.

The trustees are very appreciative of recent donations from the Risborough Markets, St Mary’s Church, Lacey Green Players, the Black Dog Band and Banjovi Revival. We have also received a substantial Gift Aid payment from HMRC.

If you would like to learn more about what we can offer to you or your loved one and book a free taster session, please contact Kim on 01844 345105 or Mags at Bourne End on 01628 527024.
