With the arrival of a spell of lovely weather our clients are able to enjoy some outdoor activities. There have been visits to Widmer Feeds to see the goats and alpacas, a trip to Aylesbury on the train for lunch, returning home by bus, and a number of l ocal walks, as well as activities in the garden.
There continues to be a large range of activities at the Princes Centre. Some encourage mobility such as boules, corn hole, a bean bag game, cardio drumming, dancing to music, exercising the lungs with singing, or even just getting up to pat a visiting pet dog. Others encourage communication, friendships, independence and mental stimulation.
In the cooking sessions, clients have been making quiches and flapjacks to name a few. Some like to play scrabble, Rummikub or dominoes. Pottery is always a favourite and there is plenty of craft work making Easter bonnets, photo frames, Easter decorations, painting, knitting, having a go at jigsaw puzzles etc with a drink of sherry thrown in at times. At other times the clients enjoy listening to music and one of our clients gave a performance on the piano one afternoon. For clients who are housebound or live in remote areas where they have little contact with other people, the Princes Centre is a great place to socialise and make friends with others. We serve wonderful meals too.
If you would like to support the Princes Centres in any way or if you or your loved one would like a free taster of what we have to offer, please contact Mags on 01844 345105 or Marina at Bourne End on 01628 527024.
