Update April 2025

08 April 2025

It is wonderful to see the sunshine at long last and some of the younger clients have been out visiting the local police station and even enjoying getting into the police car. Other visits were to the library, to learn about local history, taking some items for the One Can appeal at the local Coop and local cafes. Others were taken shopping to buy ingredients for their cookery session. Some clients need stimulation to lift their spirits. These activities are designed to encourage physical activity, aid their independence, local knowledge and responsibilities.

Indoors there have been plenty of activities to exercise bodies and brains, and even games helping the fine motor skills for some who have disabilities. Cardio drumming, boules, hoops, chair exercises, floor games of all kinds and regular activities such as pottery. Entertainment was provided from local bands on occasions and very much enjoyed by the clients, some of whom joined in with the singing and others even having a dance to some of the waltzes. Cookery sessions are very popular with clients making jam tarts, pancakes etc. The Arts and Craft sessions have resulted in some wonderful works of art and imaginative ideas. Some clients are enjoying IT sessions, others gardening, local history.
