Another month has gone by and summer will soon be over. Our clients have enjoyed a number of trips and outdoor activities including a scavenger hunt rounded off by stories. Our walking group also helped with litter picking. Thanks to our chairman, a day trip to Littlehampton is planned for September.
Indoor activities have been varied along with some entertainment from Elvis. The clients love the attention they get from him. They have been painting, doing craft work, flower arranging, playing board games and singing. We have a new 'Higher Lower' card game which was donated to us which our clients have also enjoyed. The wonderful painting of the giraffes below was the work of one of our clients. Our Jinglers choir entertained at the local ‘Lunch and Social Club’ at St Mary’s and, as a result, were ‘booked’ to entertain the residents of Woollerton Court. With money donated by the Lunch Club the clients chose to sponsor some donkeys.
The Centre is now open on Fridays from 12.45 to 4 pm for the ‘Risborough Friendly Social Club’. This is for anyone in their later years who would like to meet new people and make friends over a cup of tea or coffee and play games of Hoy and Bingo. Entry is £1 and refreshments are 50p. We are working in partnership with the Risborough Social Club to keep this club running.
