Update May 2024

14 May 2024

There has been lots happening at the Princes Centre this last month; something for everyone. With the warmer weather there have been more external activities organised which are of benefit to many of the clients who are unable to get out and about by themselves. A group went to Bekonscot Model Village in Beaconsfield; others visited the Red Lion teashop in Bradenham; regular walks are taken by some of the younger clients into town visiting the library, shops and cafes, others went to a garden centre; a group played tennis and outdoor bowling continues.

Special events are always celebrated too. We celebrated Easter and St George’s Day with a special tea and client’s birthdays are always remembered.

The trustees continue to make improvements around the centre. Several smaller projects have been accomplished recently. The small ceiling domes in the main hallway have been replaced and made an amazing difference, making the area lovely and bright. The ridge tiles on the roof of the main hall have been attended to and the outside railings have been painted. Some small bistro tables have been purchased and placed on our recently refurbished path surrounding the lower buildings so that the downstairs clients can sit and enjoy the fresh air on warmer days. Another vehicle has been purchased for use with the older clients.

The trustees are very grateful for a donation of a new camera from West Wycombe Arts Society which the client’s photography group are using for their special project which will be displayed during Festival week. Tescos are donating items for the garden and Kelly, their Community Champion has been round to help clients plant some sunflowers, and the gardening group continue to enjoy pottering around making the garden tidy.

If you would like to support the Princes Centres in any way or if you or your loved one would like a free taster of what we have to offer, please contact our manager Kim on 01844 345105 or Mags at Bourne End 01628 52702.
