The Golden Years Information Day which was recently held at the Princes Centre was a great success and was very well attended. Lots of organisations were available to give out information about their service and there were free items and refreshments available.
Our clients continue to enjoy all their activities, some visiting Legoland; others have been decorating Easter cakes, cooking crumble, cardio drumming, finger painting, bell ringing, dancing, listening to music and enjoying another performance from the Black Dog Band. Woodworking, indoor and outdoor bowls, games and quizzes etc continue.
Various works continue to enhance the two centres, here and in Bourne End. A new cooker has been installed in Risborough. A volunteer has made a lovely job of tidying the gardens and the paths will shortly getting a makeover so they will look like new. Background work continues towards the installation of the solar panels. We are now waiting for a date for the installation to take place. At Bourne End the garden is having a major overhaul thanks to the local Rotary Club. Some before and after photos will be available in the next update.
We are very grateful for donations from ex captains Ian Hudson and Pauline Risk, ‘Yours’ church social group in Aylesbury following a talk by Kim, and a fantastic Kit Bag full to the brim with tennis equipment for our tennis group from The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust. Also, customers using the Co-op raised £382 for our Bourne End Centre which was very welcome. The scheme runs until October this year so please continue to use the Co-op and support our cause.
Buckinghamshire Council are running a monthly lottery with tickets costing just £1 each. We are the charity they are currently supporting with 50% of the ticket money being donated to us. If you fancy your chances why not take part and raise money for our own centre! The lottery offers fantastic prizes, please take a look.
