Update December 2023

12 December 2023

Charity Number 1151083

Our clients are enjoying getting prepared for Christmas, some helping to decorate our Christmas tree whilst others were busy making Christmas cards to give to their loved ones or using glitter in the Arts and Crafts session to make Christmas decorations. By the time this report is published many of our clients will have enjoyed a trip to London to see the Christmas lights and enjoy a meal. Also, the Jinglers will have performed a Christmas story with a difference at St Mary’s Church.

The craftwork sessions have also involved clients decorating pots and subsequently planting some daffodil bulbs in them, making flowers and Remembrance Jars. Lots of cooking sessions have taken place with clients enjoying the results. Friendships have developed whilst taking part in games with others. The clients have also enjoyed some entertainment provided by the Hillbillies.

Hot Drinks In Wades Park Cafe

Hot Drinks In Wades Park Cafe

Exercise is undertaken in fun ways and those more able enjoy walks. One of the walks was down to Wades Park followed by a nice hot drink in the café. Some of the others had a trip to the Air Raid Café in High Wycombe, a 1940’s themed café and they had an interesting time, with lots of nostalgic pieces of furniture bringing back memories. We are very proud of one of our drivers, Dickie, who paraded at the Cenotaph in London on Remembrance Sunday.

We were very pleased to receive £122.45 which the Princes Risborough Town Council collected for us when the Christmas Lights were switched on recently. We will be holding a collection outside Tescos soon.

At our Bourne End Centre, the new windows have been fitted and apart from giving the rooms a lovely facelift, it is notably much warmer there centre now.

If you or your loved one would like a free taster of what we have to offer or would like to consider volunteering at the Princes Centre, please contact our manager Kim on 01844 345105 or Mags at Bourne End 01628 527024.
