Princes Risborough’s multi-award winning day care provider, The Princes Centre, will soon receive a major refurbishment to improve and extend its facilities that are enjoyed by over 100 clients every year.
The Princes Centre welcomes 36 adults, both young and old, every day offering them a wide range of services and experiences for them to enjoy including education courses, cookery, pottery and flower arranging lessons, exercise classes, swimming, gym and bowling.
Thanks to the generous donations from local companies and individuals as well as grants from local organisations, the existing building will be renovated, extending the main downstairs area, creating a larger kitchen, new toilets and spacious additional work areas.
The work is due to start in May and the centre is planned to reopen in early Autumn.
Whilst parts of the building will be closed during the refurbishment works The Princes Centre will continue to operate a full service for its clients by creating temporary work areas within the building as well as delivering additional services out in the community.
Kim Challinor, Manager of The Princes Centre commented on the refurbishment “We are absolutely thrilled that the long overdue refurbishment is going to happen, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped bring it life. The Princes Centre will be transformed into a modern facility where our clients will be able to enjoy fantastic services and experiences. It’s going to be a tremendous asset in our community, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone through the doors later this year”
Kevin, a client who has been visiting The Princes Centre for the past 7 years said “I always look forward to my visits to the Princes Centre, the staff are brilliant and there is always something interesting to do. It’s great news that we are going to have a fantastic new space to enjoy”
But …… We still need help. We still need to raise at least 50k to complete the refurbishments and our team and trustees are frantically looking for supporters to enable us to complete the project. If you would like to help, contact Kim at the centre.
