Update September 2025

Thankfully the very hot weather is over and our clients can enjoy somewhat normal temperatures. There have been trips out to the bowls club in Aylesbury. Some have been to look around a sensory garden in Holmer Green, or visiting Wycombe train station. Other lucky ones were taken for a trip on the Thames on Captain Beaky. There have been more activities in our gardens with clients in a gardening group involved with a volunteer in making a Five star bug home.

Indoors, there have been various activities including bell ringing, sugar painting, dominoes, balloon swatting, cooking, darts sessions, cardio-drumming, dancing, quizzes, and all types of games.  Musical activities included individuals having a guitar session, having a go on a recorder and playing on the keyboard. The Charles Pope Choir came and entertained one afternoon and there have been two sing-a-long sessions arranged by volunteers to say goodbye to two long-serving members of staff.

The work to install air-conditioning units in suitable areas of the buildings has now been completed with the last one being fitted in the downstairs TV room. This will help clients cope with future high temperatures. Unfortunately, the main hall is not suitable but we do have large fans to use there.

If you would like to consider having a relative or yourself attending the Centre, a free taster of what we have to offer can be arranged. Please contact Mags on 01844 345105 or Marina on 01628 527024 for our Bourne End Centre.
